What is Accountabilty

90-Day Challenge – What is accountability?

We've just started the 90-Day Challenge, and I love what I'm hearing already from everyone who's joined us.  There are some that having a tough time reading daily, due to health issues, and some are already discovering where their time stealers are, and others who are just waiting for the right time to get started with the reading.

Regardless, of where you are in the 90-Day Challenge, I encourage to keep going with the program.  The goal is to stay accountable knowing that though it can sometimes be hard to find extra time in your schedule, this program will help you discover how to effectively improve your time management.

Early will I rise O Lord to meet you.

For me, though, the first seven days have been a little easy because I made a decision to start 5 days ahead of class in order to write my notes and share them daily.   This is the accountability we're talking about.  It's truly self-accountability.

I can tell you that it's real work.  I'm blessed that my kids don't get up before 7:30am, and that I work from home.  But it has also revealed weaknesses in my area of self-accountability.

First, let's understand that accountability is nothing more than taking ownership of what you said you're going to do.  Now, I've not missed a single day since I started reading and listening and taking notes.  However, I can see how I spend way too much on the computer, and that's not good.

I can help people, and I can write all kinds of pages, but this program revealed already that I need time off the screen, which is something my youngest daughter was pointing out weeks ago.

What is Accountabilty
Accountability is taking ownership

Besides, taking ownership, accountability allows you to put up a mirror to yourself.  And when you're running with others, they reflect back to you where you're supposed to be, not in a competitive way, but rather in an encouraging way.  This is why we have the group.

It's been proven that when we run in groups, we are more likely to stay accountable because we see others taking ownership as well, and that encourages us.  However, if you're trying to do this on your own, it's more likely that you'll fail, and quit.  This is exactly why I'm challenging you to join us – the Quit Factor is too high and too easy when you're isolated.

Time Stealers Are Real

Remember that this program will help you identify where you're out of balance with your time.  So, have you already identified some of your time stealers?  Where is the greatest demand on your time today?

Are you vegging when you should be reading?  Are you watching way too much TV?  Are you having way too much time with the boys or the girls instead of spending time at home with your spouse and kids?

Until you identify the time stealers, you'll still keep going around the same mountains with health and financial issues, because those are simply an outgrowth of the lack of balance in the areas of your time and focus.

So, joining the group is a good way to start being accountable as you'll see postings in there regularly, and seeing others commenting and sharing what this program is doing for them.  It's never too late to join us.  Click here to join the dozens of others that have so far decided to do the challenge.

The 90-Day Challenge

90-Day Challenge Weekly Reading List

Here's our Weekly Reading List below for the 90-Day Challenge.  I'll be updating it regularly for those trekking with us in the program.  You can join us at any point and take the challenge that will help get your schedule back in line.  But first read the following Tips before you even start your reading program.

3 Tips to Start Your 90-Day Challenge

  1. Download YouVersion Bible App on your phone, tablet or use bible.com or bible.cc on your computer.
    1. If you install the App look for Plans – go to the middle checkmark at bottom of App on phone/tablet, or just click the Checkmark on the upper eft side for the desktop – Select Bible in 90 Days.
    2. We’ll be reading the ESV (English Standard Version) – You can also choose a Spanish Version like RVC1960 (Reina Valera), or other languages and translations of your choice.
    3. If you don’t have plan, I’ll be posting the readings in our FB Group one week ahead of time, and Daily as well, and sending those to your email as well.
  2. Set time aside in the morning. Unless you work nights, this is going to be the most effective time to take advantage of this program and reset your schedule accordingly.
  3. Use a Calendar (This is going to be your most important tool after the biblical text you'll be reading daily.
    1. Use Google Calendar or an alarm on your phone to remind you of the reading time every morning.
    2. Also leverage a paper calendar – Here’s my best choice -> Cambridge 2018 – 2019. I use it daily along with Google.

you shall decree a thing

Daily Affirmation Examples

You shall decree a thing and it shall be unto you.  It's important to have your daily affirmations and declare them daily.  As I shared in “The Successful Entrepreneur's Morning Routine,” you need to declare the things God has said about you and declare desires of your heart on a regular basis.

However, you must state them in the present because your subconscious mind only “sees” what you see in the present state.  If you don't think something is possible and you keep telling yourself so, then your subconscious mind is convinced of it, even though you may try to convince yourself otherwise with your conscious mind.

I hope this makes sense.  To take it a little further, your subconscious mind is the heart of man, or your spirit, where the truth resides about your potential.   It is only convinced of what you think is presently possible.  Otherwise it has potential like an untapped reservoir or an unfolded sail.

Here are some examples you can incorporate into your Daily Affirmations – Remember these are examples.  So make yours more personal.

My house is paid off now.
I owe no man anything except to love him.
I pay all my bills on a timely basis.
I have no surprise bills.
I am diligent to know all my income sources and all expenses.
I am so happy and grateful now that money comes to me in increasing quantities through multiple sources on a continuous basis.
I am financially independent.
I create new businesses that attract money day in and day out in increasing quantities on a continuous basis.
I have multiple sources of income.
Money comes to me daily.
I am a money magnet.
People are looking for me to pay me daily.
I have multiple sources of income and I'm getting compensated daily for services rendered.
I love and serve people.
God's goodness and mercy is overtaking me everyday

These are just some examples, but when you do this, don't just make it something you recite by memory.  Go through each line and feel it – what does it feel like to have money coming in daily and have no fear of debt.  What does it feel like to have multiple streams of income because you've worked smartly to establish multiple sources of income.  What does it feel like to be on your way to reach your next goal.

Now most of these address the financial aspect but you can add some for healing, family and others.  If you'd like some Healing Confessions, feel free to download them here.

Hope that helps.  Let me know what you think.
